French Braid and all things Anne Tyler | Anne Tyler

There are many things I like about Anne Tyler. She's incredibly prolific (23 novels!) but, while her books share some traits, she tells fresh stories about real people. She has a new book (#24) coming out in February (Three Days in June) that I will surely read. I like that her characters are ordinary people that we've all known, from a town that they all think is exceptional and, to outsiders, is just a town. I grew up in a town like that. They're flawed and they know it, but they're striving to make the best of their lives. They're generous, in their own ways, and take care of others. I'm wanting to go back and re-read her earlier work. The Clock Winder stuck with me for the relationship between the older woman and the young woman. Hmmmm, maybe I'll read through the Anne Tyler shelf before February?
