Mrs. Quinn's Rise to Fame | Olivia Ford

I'm not much of a baker. And it's too warm to bake in the summer time anyway. But if you're in the mood for delectable baked goods, Mrs. Quinn's Rise to Fame is the perfect solution. It's very BBC/Masterpiece Theater/Great British Bake-off in nature. The author works in television and it shows. The main character is just as sweet as can be and her husband and marriage are even sweeter. Of course, to make it a story, there's a secret to be revealed--and happily resolved (sorry for the spoiler but honestly, could it be any other way?). If you're looking for a story that's as sweet and light as the cakes, this is for you.
